Umbraco makes content management easier for your users

Umbraco is one of the most flexible ways to manage your website. In fact, Umbraco is trusted by many of the world’s biggest brands for that reason. It can be used for personal websites, corporate intranets and large web portals. It can be extended and adapted to suit almost any purpose. And because it is built on .NET, it’s rock solid too, so you’ll never have to worry about your website not being able to cope with a spike in traffic.

Efficient publishing
Umbraco allows you to write your content at a time that's convenient for you. You can then choose to publish it at a later date if you wish. If you want your news release to be posted first thing in the morning, there's no need to get to the office early; just write your post the day before, then schedule it to publish bang on 9am.

If you'd like to delegate the task of writing or managing your site, simply use the built in Umbraco workflows to alert you when new content is ready. These workflows allow you to involve other staff in the process, yet still proof read and fact check your content before it goes live.

Flexibility
Umbraco can be used to manage one brochure site or the web content for a large brand. It can serve up one intranet or a whole cluster of different sites. It can also provide different versions of the same site in different languages.

Rich content creation
If you want to enhance your site with images, audio or video, Umbraco has a library for storing, organising and easily retrieving media content. This library can even be shared between multiple sites for ease and efficiency.

Once you've laid out a post or page the way you like it, you can preview your work before it's published. That means nothing will ever be published without you being able to see exactly how it's going to appear. If you don't like it, or something doesn't work, no problem: Umbraco allows you to revert to a previous version with a single click. Your templates always remain untouched, even if something does go wrong, so you'll never be able to irretrievably disrupt the layout of the site by accident.

With the surge in smartphone and RSS use on the web, you'll also want to make sure your site looks neat and compact on mobile devices and newsreaders. Set up multiple layouts with Umbraco for this: the one most suitable for the client's device will be served to them, while the content remains consistent with your main site.

Ease of use
Umbraco's user interface is designed to be instinctual, so you don't have to spend time training (or being trained), and integrated help is always available. Edit in the familiar back-end interface, or edit in Word: Umbraco can handle either. Your content is displayed in a tree-like structure, familiar to anyone who uses Windows Explorer -the standard way to navigate files.

Umbraco even has a Recycle Bin. Not only is this familiar for your users, it offers you the peace of mind of knowing nothing a new user accidentally trashes will be permanently deleted.
